A lotta people try to throw open mic.'s & showcases, but these girls got this shit on lock. Unlike the average showcases that are thrown once a week, Chunky Chickz run their's once a month.

& Unlike other open mic.'s that claim to have abuncha big industry people coming thru that never show up, they have everybody that's anybody in the house.

The first Unsigned Hype that they threw wuz held at Literary Cafe'. But there were so many people that came that everybody was shoulder to shoulder from the bathrooms to the parking lot. They actually had to turn people away bcuz of the lack of room.

Of course i performed, but there were other talented artists too. Great rappers like Wilameana Jones, singers like Rimidi, & poets like Richard Da III tore up the stage.

Spectators consisted of Talent TV, RGS Productions, Street Connect DJs, promoters from Club56, Dreams2Reality Ent., & SlipNSlide Records just to name a few.

Empress & the Chunky Chickz are definitely doin their thang. The second showcase had even more artists including 43Kingz, Young McFly, Peazy Li'jon, Cognac Black, F.O.D., Mr. Vicious, & JJ Heffner.

They actually had to move the venue to a larger spot (Indigo 7).

Spectators consisted of Elora Mason (Florida's Biggest publicist), Jam Squad DJs, Feel Good Ent., 89.1 thestreetsfm, 88.7fm DaBlaze, Poe Boy Management, Lex Promotions, & IBlog126 just to name a few.

This rap group has been really making a huge buzz 4 themselves independantly throughout the South. It's very rare 2 find rappers down here that keep it Hood, yet also Conscious. 43Kingz are definitely the next wave 2 blow from outta Florida.

43 Kingz have definitely come a long way. From being raised in the mean streets of Lil' Haiti to collaborating on a more international scale with producers & artists from France to Jamaica, including the Marleys, Iconz, Mr. Grim 2 Da Reapa, Young McFly, & many more.

The main group members are Deadline, Hen Dogg, & Jihad, but also consists of such artists as Is-Real, Ace, Dirty Boy, & Jah-Kareem.

These boyz got the whole package from the image to the lyrics to the delivery, humbleness, & one of the livest performances u'll ever see.

They've made a humuongous name 4 themselves in Florida, rockin' showz from Miami 2 Tallahassee. Their 1st single, "Street Fighter" has been playing on underground stations ALL over South Florida.

WATCHMEN

This movie is definitely being added 2 my collection. So many things about it were so on point. 1st off u know i luv a movie with depth. This movie is full of many hidden messages underlying the action, drama, & suspense.

It's based upon a British comic book & takes place in a parallel universe (alternate reality).

In a gritty and alternate 1985 the glory days of costumed vigilantes have been brought to a close by a government crackdown, but after one of the masked veterans is brutally murdered an investigation into the killer is initiated. The reunited heroes set out to prevent their own destruction, but in doing so discover a deeper and far more diabolical plot.

Here's the trailer..........

The special effects in this flick were outstanding. But of course they were. It wuz directed by the same guy who directed "300".

Wut's also really cool about this movie is how even the superheroes are just like us, battling temptations & making wrong moves as they try 2 figure LIFE out. The script wuz terrific; very well-written. There are quotes from this movie that will be used 4 decades 2 come.

I think i really dug this flick 2, b-cuz of Dr. Manhattan (one of the superheroes). He reminded me of me so much. Every1 that wuz close 2 him felt like he wuz falling more & more out of touch with Reality when in actuality he just saw the bigger picture.

To him people are just shadows in a fog. He wasn't completely free of emotion, yet fear & temptation didn't really move him.

I must say, there were so many interesting characters in this movie, but Dr. Manhattan had 2 be my favorite character thus far. By the way, he's the blue guy in the pic. above. He could bend time & matter- see the future & past, teleport, & levitate.

My second favorite character in this movie wuz Rorschach. He's the real outcast of the group; the man hiding in the darkness, leaping from building 2 building. Even though, he seems like the crazy, eccentric one of ALL the heroes, he's really the main hero throughout the whole movie. He's just got this G-Code persona about him. Plus, it's real cool how his mask is like a constant-changing Rorschach test.

Of course everybody had an interesting story & their own interesting abilities like The Comedian. He really wuzn't funny like the Joker. The Comedian wuz a cruel superhero who reflected the cruel society that we partake in. That wuz the big joke that he represented.

The Nite Owl wuz like Batman. He wuz a regular dude with a lotta money & machinery.

Silk Spectre wuz cool, but she aint had 2 many powers like that, except she wuz the only thing that kept Dr. Manhattan down 2 Earth & attached 2 this world.

Then there wuz also Ozymandias = the smartest man in the world. I can't say much, but he made the whole movie piece 2gether.

I definitely suggest this movie as a must-see. It's almost 3 hours long, so grab ur pop-corn & refreshments.

My ol' gurl got me hooked on this show last season. It's like a Vampire soap opera. This shit so G-Code. It got Action/Adventure, Drama, Horror, Romance, Comedy, & Fantasy all wrapped up in one. Kudos 2 the writers of this show. It has become an addiction every Sunday.

The show is based upon Manufacturing Companies creating some sorta synthetic blood, so Vampires don't have 2 hunt humans anymore, but this causes a whole ruckus in the world.

Now the vampires can openly walk amongst us, but some humans aint ready 2 accept this.
Plus some of the vampires still wanna feed the original way.

Plus some humans are desperate 2 just become immortal, begging 2 be bitten.

NEWayz, this synthetic blood is called TRUE BLOOD, hence the name of the show.

So back 2 the show...........Its a supernatural Heaven. Yes, folks; it's not just about Vampires. there are telepaths, witchdoctors, shapeshifters, etc.

The show is based in a small-town in Louisiana mainly around a telepathic human named Sookie Stackhouse & her relationship with a Vampire named Bill Compton.

It seems like a perfect Love Story 'til u add in her boss, Sam, who's a shapeshifter that only can turn in2 a dog. He's secretly in love with her.

Then there's her idiotic brother, Jason, who's only really good 4 chasing pussy & partying. Sookie's best friend Tara is in love with Jason. Then somehow Tara & Sam get involved. Sounds like a crazy orgy right?

LOL..........& this is just a lil bit of wut Season 1 entails.

Season 2 takes it 2 a whole 'nutha level with more Blood, more sex, & more weed-smoking; not 2 mention how much deeper the show gets, hinting a lil' bit more on religious extremism, Ancient Religion (Paganism), & the exchange of energies.

Episode 2 a lotta new shit starts happening, but its mainly based around wut happens when Bill & Sookie leave town 4 a couple dayz. ALL Hell breaks loose.

A demon lady (well she's sorta a god) takes over the town & has every1 possessed, except 4 the alcoholic detective.

It's crazy, but i just realized that the majority of Season 2 is based around a short period of time. Wow. This is a good show.
